I have this book but I haven’t opened it yet. I go back and forth with whether or not I actually like the books that Murakami has written. I enjoyed “What I Think About When I Think About Running” a lot though! Some of his others were just okay.

One of my favourite books ever! I’ve read couple other books by Murakami too and have liked them all a lot but this one was my favorite so far. It is such an epic story, especially since it’s so long you really get sucked into it. I didn’t quite like everything in it (such as how Murakami portrays some female characters, and how some things were kind of forgotten about at the end) but overall the atmosphere in it was so magical and mysterious, perfect for night time reading.
I would absolutely love to read Murakami in Japanese one day but it’s gonna take years to get to that level for sure.
