Fountain pen friendly genkouyoushi?

Hi! I’m wondering if anyone has found a good practice notebook with fountain pen friendly paper? I’ve seen some notebooks online with the type of grid I’m looking for but I’m unsure of the paper quality.

I can recommend any notebooks that use Tomoe River paper in it – it’s a very lightweight paper that is best suited for fountain pens so they glide rather beautifully. I have used it for years by way of Hobonichi planners, but that particular paper is also featured in other notebook brands with grid layouts you might like. I can’t say I’ve looked at genkouyoushi pads specifically, so I can’t speak too much there. Amazon.com : tomoe river notebook

I have the same issue, I suspect that most kanji workbooks/worksheets will use cheap paper that won’t be very fountain pen friendly, so I just use dot Clairefontaine/Rhodia paper with 5x5mm dots and I use that instead. I think typical kanji practice paper has bigger squares, but with a fine or extra-fine nib it’s fine:

I ended up getting some Campus notebooks and they’re perfect! They’re called Kokuyo Campus Notebooks - Semi B5. They have 5mm graph grid with 10mm squares, so it’s helpful for new learners (like me) to see where each stroke is supposed to go. You can find the notebooks at JetPens.
