Would be nice if they allowed you to wear any job costume. Alas.
I’ve had family visiting so haven’t had much time for FFV, but I just finished week 2’s content
Week 2 Electric Boogaloo
So far this game feels very Saturday-morning cartoon - especially with the animal companions we get in シドラ and the 飛竜 which are both fun. Makes for a nice change from an airship to be instead riding a dragon. But it can’t fly over the mountains
Maybe it’s because I split the week between going to ウォルス城 and ウォルス塔 but it felt quite chunky to me. The boss at ウォルス塔 was a little difficult since my health just kept draining (and I wasn’t entirely sure why). But I managed to get through it with everyone alive (had to use a フェニックスのお though)
Then the new classes. I currently have バッツ as a 魔法剣士 and I’m trying to figure out who I could switch over to 時魔道士. ファリス is my primary choice, but switching her away from 黒魔道士 means I can’t cast the ら spells so maybe I want to keep her on that for a little bit longer (I think the 黒魔法 ability just needs to level up again to allow it). バッツ did finally learn a blue magic spell in ???? but I didn’t know what it did (just seemed to do 0 damage). Turns out it is related to the difference in health between max HP and current HP, so casting it at max does nothing. Maybe I should go on a dedicated blue magic grind to get some more spells. I should probably switch グラフ out from being a monk but not sure what to yet. Meanwhile I’ve switched レナ over to a thief but with 白魔法 so I can still heal
There’s an ailment in this game that I believe was in IV as well called Sap. There’s no indication you have it in the menus or anything other than your health ticking down whenever the ATB is active. Esuna can cure it.
Thank you for that clarification, I did notice this effect in 4 as well and was confuse as to what it was and, often, what caused it.
Those games are quite bad at indicating some status ailments still. At least we get the cool sunglasses for darkness (which are much more fun than the dark cloud we’ll eventually get).
There’s another one called Old I think. It ages your characters and I believe reduces your stats. The only indication of that one is that their hair turns white. lol It’s kind of funny but I’m not a fan of the half-baked design. It’d be one thing if they did either all icons, sprite changes and the like, or they did all text in the menus like POISON to indicate ailments. Having a mix just leads to confusion. If I can’t have transparency in my game systems, I at least demand consistency. lol
They can’t keep getting away with this.
