Don’t worry. I plan to get it again. :victory_hand:

FF3 is 36 years old today (or tomorrow, depending on the timezone). It was released in Japan on April 27, 1990.

You should have appended a poll to this information, to know if people were born before or after the release of FF3 :grimacing:

I dont think I could deal with that emotional damage.

I would be fine with that. Would hurt more with a poll in majority for “I was born after FFX’s release”.

I still can’t with the fact that 2001 was 25 years ago. :scream:

Speaking of which, I just stumbled upon this illustration:

Not liking it!

For anyone playing the 3D version of FF3 (and/or are planning to do so for FF4), are any of you using the DS games? And if so, are they Japanese cartridges? I was just browsing my game collection and found I have the DS games for the 3D version of both 3 and 4…but they’re American cartridges and there doesn’t seem to be an option to change the language. Am I just missing it, or are these English-only copies?

I wouldn’t be surprised if those cartridges were language-locked, that was common for that generation.

Yeah, I wouldn’t be at all surprised either. I just want to make sure before I give up on the possibility.

If you want to go for a hail mary, the DS system itself has an option to change language, and some cartridges will follow suit. I would expect you’re probably out of luck however.

I have the DS version of FF4 back home, I will try to make my mom start my old DS and report
Edit: the DS has been found but not the charger, to be continued!

To continue with the “This game is HOW old?!” topic, I just remembered a few things. Both FFXII and Kingdom Hearts II are both 20 years old now. And next year, FFVII will be turning… thirty. No, I am not kidding and yes I will stop.

The DS has been found, the charger too, but unfortunately the battery is dead!

I do appreciate all the effort you’re putting into solving my question, but don’t feel obligated or anything! That is very unfortunate, though - that poor dead DS.

Oh, if it’s an NA/English version of FF4 DS you need tested, I’ve got a copy/a DS I can try during my lunch break.

I can report at least that you’re out of luck for FFIV. Had my DS’ language settings set to Japanese, but the cartridge still only played English.
