To clear some things up here that were discussed earlier, linking to content that uses mnemonics from WaniKani (or any copyrighted material for that matter!) will be in violation of Rules 2 and 4 (and using the mnemonics outside of the site is also a violation of the ToS). But, since what Lewby clarified in their post was not that, it isn’t a violation of those two 
As for owning the Japanese language, believe us, every day since the site launched Koichi has sent the same email to the Japanese government demanding they relinquish the language over to us but they haven’t given us their response yet. But any day now…
