Haha that’s funny but seriously, WaniKani has helped me with feeling less depressed. I can tell myself that everyday that passes, I learn new things and I’m getting better at something. It’s really motivating to progress in something hard.

me too tbh
using it to distract myself from the fact I can’t bring myself to do real work that actually needs doing, so I can tell myself at least I’m doing SOMETHING productive.

WaniKani definitely has helped me a bit in feeling less depressed, and the boost in apparent productivity is a godsend. Sometimes it can get my brain into a mood enough to work on other things, or at least focus my nervous energy in a productive direction, even if that’s just towards Japanese.

WK does motivate you but not directly. When you play/read your favorite game/manga and you start recognizing a couple of Kanji that’s when you get motivated and you shout: “WANIKANI!!!”

I feel you. I always misspell 慫぀ just so that I can see it on my pile from time to time. Wouldn’t know what to do with myself if it burned away from my life.
