Does anyone find this helpful?
I’m still working through remaining kanji and vocab that I need to learn/review, and this just popped up as… something. But I don’t know what function it serves. It is a useless distraction in my opinion.

Well, there is the “Life” radical 生、which can be found in kanji
But the “Rib Cage” radical is different in that it doesn’t have that slide. It’s also a very common radical, found in many kanji
Actually, before WaniKani introduced this radical, I’ve been using it myself, only I called it “Half-Life”. In any case, regardless of how you call it, I find it quite a useful radical.
Yeah, I’ve been thinking of it as similar to dirt or life, I think, so I never found it difficult to recognize.
I’m probably more annoyed by it because it shows up as a broken graphic on Tsurukame, and then when I checked my WKstats, I noticed that I had already burnt all the items with it, haha.
I was actually thinking to myself previously that sometimes the life radical didn’t really seem to match the radical used in the kanji. So when I would review those kanji I would have trouble remembering the mnemonic because I wasn’t identifying the radical they were calling “life” at the time. I reset my levels a bit ago and seeing those kanji with the rib cage radical and mnemonics stuck a lot better.
