What’s your favorite example of untranslatable nuance in the Japanese language (especially with examples from Japanese media?) I personally like the subtle tonal stuff you can do with grammar/politeness levels. A character can end a sentence with です、だ、another particle, or multiple particles, and thereby set up information about their relationship with whoever they’re talking to very efficiently.
