I would suggest that you add “Fine” as a synonym to this card.
I would suggest that WK add it as an accepted synonym or ask for a better answer instead of marking it wrong, or remove the example sentence.
Aye, that’s the end goal, and it’s a good suggestion, but it could take time to be implemented. For the immediate purposes of not accidentally getting it wrong again on your next review, though, it’s worth adding the word as a user synonym.

sorry for my bluntness! given that all you initially posted was a screenshot, it wasn’t clear to me what your intention was with posting. as you know, forums and bug feedback forms are different things, and context in both cases (as with language learning…) is really everything. 
I got your point immediately. I gave up on the idea that wanikani would fix errors, but I still post every once in while when something like this just bugs me. I don’t want to give up hope completely that wanikani will improve.
Yeah this kind of stuff annoys me too because why is it in the context sentence if it’s not allowed? I also use the synonym feature pretty liberally but I’ve gotten good responses reporting this kind of stuff on the feedback form:

Bugs should be discussed in the forum, otherwise there is no transparency. This is standard practice, even for closed-source software.
This isn’t the same thing as a bug, of course. “Fine” has many shades of meaning, and “narrow” or “thin” is not the main one.
To be clear, I’m not opposed to giving feedback on the product on the forum! I just want to remind folks (by being an asshole) that this is a place primarily for conversation, and it’s useful to say what you mean
I mean that’s exactly what OP did. OP said what he means and what he thinks the issue is. The topic is “Example Sentence Conflict With “Incorrect” Answer “細い,” and then he gave screenshots showing an example sentence conflicting with that input. And it’s posted under “bugs and errors” so that’s where it should be posted. I think it’s an obvious error because if a meaning is in the example sentence, that meaning should still be valid even if it’s not the main meaning. But even if it were debatably an error…that’s why you post it on the forums. To have that conversation.
This seems like a “fine” suggestion (heh heh). I will pass it on to the content team.
