My kanji abilities totally surpassed all the BS hiragana-centered Japanese classes as well. It’s almost annoying to me now when I see something written using too much kana and not enough kanji. Unless I don’t know any of the kanji (which is getting increasingly less and less common.)

I somehow misread the sentence as いいえ、おかあさんにはすんでいません. Needless to say, I was quite confused.
