DeepL gave me this, which sounds more accurate, but I can’t say for certain:

The からね means that something came before this that this is explaining… would kind of be nice to have that too.
And yeah… I don’t really see かた as more likely than ほう unlike @PosturelessHobo, personally. But that’s why context could affect it.

But be warned that doesn’t always mean an accurate translation. Deepl can be better than GT, but it sometimes also can be deceiving when it makes “natural-sounding” translations that are wrong.

Yeah I think the whole point of asking on a forum is to get a human answer. They could’ve easily run it through GT themselves if they’d wanted to.
