I know we just had the life time discount but am still working on my free first 3 levels. I want to ask will we get a discount on the YEAR sub too? also If I am not mistaken I read some where that the subbed individual months or years get added to the lifetime if we sub to that? curious how this works

I believe that if you purchase lifetime, let’s say halfway into your month subscription, half a year’s worth of subscription cost is discounted from the lifetime cost. I don’t believe there are any other discounts other than the end of year sale though

I’ve seen some comments in the WaniKani community where people mentioned having success getting discounts after reaching out and explaining their situation. Definitely doesn’t hurt to ask 
yes I heard that too seen it mentioned multiple times. I still cant afford the lifetime at half price thats why i am asking about the year one so idk if they will discount that too.
ok so they do take out the sum of what i paid before during the months from the sub i decide on. Appreciate the input
It’s not about what you paid before, it’s about what’s left unused. That portion gets automatically returned to you. So if you pay for annual and use 9 months, and then get lifetime, you’ll get 25% (3 months) returned to you. That’s my understanding.
I personally think the rational way to approach it if you don’t have the money to get lifetime right away: if you’re totally unsure, do monthly until you decide to stick with it. Then get a yearly sub, then after close to a year, you’ll have a good idea how you use it and want to in the future. For some people that will be one more year and then they are done (or close), and for others they are happy to add lifetime because they’ll need another 3-5 years.
