Difference between 評論 and 批判?

評論 and 批判 have been leeches of mine for a while now, and that’s largely because they mean almost the same thing. What exactly is the difference between these two words? 評論 can mean both “critique” and “criticism”, but 批判 can mean “criticism” or “judgement”, but not “critique”.

I guess in a way this is also a question relating to the English meanings as well, but I really can’t get my head around how these are different. Any help would be appreciated.

Someone who is a 評論家 is a critic. Like an 映画評論家. 批判 is just like criticizing someone. Like 批判的な態度 is a critical attitude.
