For what it’s worth, I found Lingodeer to be really disappointing and not worth the money. If anyone is thinking about trying it, I’d recommend only subscribing for one month at first to see if you like it before you spend more.
Same here. It just seemed a bit shallow once you start to learn a bit more.
@alo I completely agree with you guys. I am a bit biased. I only did Japanese I not II. Back then, it was free so I never paid anything for it. It was before they add their other app deer+ and they were still trying to figure out their payment options. Japanese II wasn’t available yet.
The thing is it’s a fun app when you are outside, so I recommend it as a bonus app not as a main one. I am also thinking about beginners, at my current level, it’s better for me to use other sources.
@Noursaidana I did I and II on Lingodeer and the Japanese course on Duolingo. I even paid a 2 month subscription on Lingodeer to give it a fair shot, but it just didn’t really seem to help. I would agree that it’s fun to learn the words and do the exercises and I have kept some of that knowledge, but I probably made more progress in the last month of WK than I ever did in any of those apps.
I completely agree with you. I finished Duolingo(before they updated it and added more content). A textbook will make you improve WAY faster.
With only the apps, even N5 will seem difficult haha. I used to play with these apps a lot, thought that I was improving until I saw an example of JLPT and realized how bad I was.
However, they are a good/fun way to start learning Japanese. You start with some fun before you start WK and some textbooks and realize that learning Japanese is really not fun at the beginning lol.
