Got my Wanikani done
I made so many mistakes today. As expected with all these new, difficult words. Plus I got even more on top of that, with kanji that now have another reading introduced. Nothing to do but to push through it though.
Episode 3 (10:05 to 13:25)
And why do we found it immediately when a victim dies
Is it limited to criminals in prison?
This is what Kira is saying
He can freely manipulate the time of death
However
As soon as suspicion rose that Kira might be a student
Killings occurred that seemed to deny that
Coincidence? No, the timing is too good for that
Kira is likely in an environment that gives him access to police information
He is clearly challenging me
I bet L is panicking now
For times like these I’ve intentionally kept some criminals alive
There are still 50 people
It is time to use them
L must be starting to suspect those involved with the police
Kira has a method to obtain information from police headquarters
I cannot overlook this
Is Kira originally from the police?
What is he trying to do?
But I don’t get it, rather than erasing the student lead
being thought of as someone well versed in police matters
Isn’t that a much larger disadvantage?
The answer
is to find L and dispose of him
How does that work?
In this human society
People who truly trust each other are rare
This is the case even in the police
Let alone between the police and L
Two parties who don’t even know each other’s names
Can you trust someone whose face and name you don’t know?
L having realized that details have been leaked to me
He is bound to try to get a lead on me through the police
If that happens, the police
will start to become suspicious of L
On the surface they are cooperating
but behind the scenes
L investigates the police and the police investigate L
The one who finds L won’t be me
The police will find him for me
and then I will eliminate L
What is this
As you can see this is a letter of resignation
Either this or transfer me to another case
But why
It’s because my life is precious to me
According to L, Kira uses something like a supernatural power
to kill power without directly doing it right?
If I were Kira
I would kill the people trying to catch him
Because if he’s caught, he’ll face the death penalty
Previously L baited Kira to kill him
He did something like a stunt
It’s a good thing that it was the fake L that died
Yet what L has ordered us to do

Wanikani is done!
Turns out that the book club actually started up this week, so I’ve got some Japanese books to buy. Also, I’ll be stopping my translation of Deathnote after this week. It was hardly me doing any of the translation anyhow.
Episode 3 (13:26 to 16:46)
How those who became sacrifices are being reported on in Japan
whether the faces of the criminals who became sacrifices appeared in photos or videos
That’s exactly right
The victims were all people whose faces could be confirmed through Japanese news reports
Unlike L, we have ID cards
We are conducting this investigation while carrying IDs that contain our photos
Are faces are out in the open
It wouldn’t be strange if Kira killed us at any moment
This is why we’re requesting a department transfer
Please excuse our rudeness
Hey!
Wait!
(Sound of teacher teaching)
The FBI has entered Japan starting four days ago
They’re investigating those related to the police
That’s this list then
Yes
Even just within the police
The number of people who could access the information Kira used is 141
Among these 141 people, or perhaps someone close to them
Kira is certainly there
Light do you have a second?
I told you not to talk to me while outside didn’t I?
How many times must I tell you?
Then I’ll just talk to you by myself
If you don’t want to hear it, then cover your ears
It’s not that I dislike you Light
In a sense, I think the best guy picked up the notebook
Because the end of the notebook
But I have to witness your end because that’s how it has to be
However I’m neither on your side or L’s side
Why are you telling me all this
Therefore whether what you’re doing is right or wrong
I wont’ say a single word about such things
Mind you, I’ll still interject as a housemate
Where is this going Ryuke
Saying such things after all this time
So what I’m about to tell you
In no way means that I’m taking your side
I’m only saying it because it makes me feel creepy
Get to the point
There is a person who’s been following you
It’s an eyesore
He can’t see me
but since I’m always behind you
I feel like I’m constantly being watched

Got my Wanikani done
Hope everyone is enjoying their friday! My brother has made plans for me to see the new Mario movie, despite not even having seen the first one. I’m not really expecting much.
Episode 3 (16:47 to 20:08)
That’s annoying
I’ll erase them as soon as possible Ryuke
Who is it? The heck
Does this mean that L has started to suspect the police?
If he’s going to investigate the police, it must involve a considerable amount of people
Even assuming a group of 50 people were investigating
The possibility of me being suspected as Kira is none
To them I should look like nothing more than an ordinary student
But even then I should be careful
The possibility may no longer be zero
First I need the name of that tail, after that I can handle anything
Light
Hm?
I’ll let you in on something good
Between a shinigami with a deathnote and a human with one
There are 2 big differences
Do know how a Shinigami knows a person’s name?
There’s no way that I’d know that
You’re quite talkative today Ryuke
Shinigami take a human’s lifespans because that’s how we receive our own
They receive their lifespan?
For a person that would live until they are 60
If I write it so that they die at 40
I’ll receive 20 years
That period of 20 years in the human world is added to the shinigami’s lifespan
So unless they’re extremely lazy even if they have their head blown in with a shotgun
Even if they’re stabbed in the heart, a Shinigami won’t die
But even if you write a name in the noteboook
your life won’t be extended
This is the difference between a human and a shinigami possessing a deathnote
Hmmm for humans that’s a new theory about shinigami isn’t it?
That’s a bit interesting
The second difference is probably even more interesting
It’s nothing to do with extending life
What do you mean?
Shinigami just by looking at a person’s face can see their name
Do you know why?
Shinigami eyes
When they look at a person’s face, their name and lifespan can be seen above
You can see the name?
Of course, right now my eyes
I can see your name and lifespan
If I convert it to human years I know exactly how many years it is
Of course I wouldn’t tell you even if my mouth was torn
Even for someone who’s mouth is already torn this far hahaha
That’s why shinigami without knowing the name of the person they kill
dont’ have any trouble and kill that human
They clearly know how much their lifespan will be extended by
Our eyes are different
That is the difference between me and you Light
So Shinigami
the eyes of the human who picked up the notebook
can be turned into shinigami eyes
It’s been done since ancient times
If you make a deal
A deal?

Wanikani has been finished for the day
I’ve still got the book club to do after this and that first page look terrifying. Should I be grateful that my Japanese isn’t up to the level for me to even attempt it on my own? Think I’m going to go with no
Episode 3 (20:09 to end)
The price for Shinigami eyes is
half of your lifespan
Half of my remaining lifespan…
In other words if you were to live for 50 more years, you’d live for 25 more instead
and if you were to live only one more year, you’d only live half that
And you won’t take the side of Kira or L so
Even if you can see the name of the person I want to kill you won’t tell me
In other words I cannot borrow your power
Is that what you’re saying?
Yeah because that’s a law of the shinigami realm
I’ll say it one more time
For half your remaining lifespan, you can have the eyes of a shinigami
If I do that I’ll know the names of all humans just by looking at their faces
I’ll be able to use the deathnote much easier
So, how about it?

Got my WaniKani done!
Happy Easter everyone! Hope everyone gets completely stuffed on deviled eggs, that’s my plan anyhow. Also, were emojis invented by Japan? It would explain why the spelling is the same lol

Finished my Wanikani for today
I’m thinking that for my current studies of Japanese, I’m going to practice creating simple sentences. Then once I feel comfortable with that, I’m going to go ahead and start playing some final fantasy games completely in Japanese. I’ll be starting with the first one so hopefully it won’t be too bad, I know that these games tend to be a bit wordy

Looks like there’s all sorts of ways to say interval. Hopefully it doesn’t give me the same sort of problems that sun and moon can.

Finally, I can cry out that I’ll be 一番 in learning Japanese! (Although 五万番 may be more accurate)

Wanikani’s been finished!
I feel like I’ve learned a decent amount of words by now, so I’d hope that I could read something simple. But what’s usually tripping me up is grammar and being able to tell where one word begins and and another ends. Something that only practice can help with I fear.

Didn’t do too well today, got a whole bunch wrong. I know it’s all apart of the learning process and whatnot, but that doesn’t make it any less frustrating. Still, all I can do is push through.

Got my Wanikani done!
I’ve reached level 9 today! It was unexpected as I felt that I was getting too many words wrongs to level up, but apparently that wasn’t actually the case. Also, I’ll be doing the book club today since this week’s reading released late yesterday.
