these explanations seem to be conflicting to me?!
Kanji on its own = usually kun’yomi
Kanji + hiragana = usually kun’yomi
Kanji + another kanji = usually on’yomi
These are just rough guidelines with many many exceptions.
The kun’yomi / on’yomi stuff can be a little confusing for beginners so try not to worry about it too much
