Annnd, after a strong initial showing from orange 1, Ghost Story in the Library has surged to the front and is holding its lead!! Meanwhile, Back to the Future, which was jockeying for the third place bronze medal, has let its guard down, allowing Kimyouji Yokochou Summer to pass! This race seems like a lock for Ghost Story in the Library, but will there be any surprises…?
Ghost in the shell: ![]()
Ghost in the library: ![]()
Quite understandable.
If one has to spend an eternity on Earth as a ghost – it would be much better to do so in a library full of interesting books than in some shell ![]()
You’ve never watched Ghost in the Shell, have you? ![]()
The metaphor the movie was making is that you are a ghost in a shell, trunky. So am I. So are we all.
And the winner is…

Got the book! Very excited to start
Ooh, is this actually the first book in a series? I just went to Bookwalker to put the e-book in my cart, and it looks like there are 4 more Ghost Story in the Library volumes beyond this one! I always love starting a new series!

Looks like it is! If you like it, then you’re sorted on reading material ![]()
(Bookwalker that’s your cue
)
Excited. Just got my paper copy today!
If anyone hasn’t bought the book yet, Bookwalker currently has a coupon for 50% off the first volume in a series.
Got the book via the coupon. Last time I was in two book clubs I found it overwhelming (as the other club I’m in from a different site is intermediate books at a fairly fast pace), but I’m hoping with this one being a children’s novel, that it won’t be too bad to do both clubs.
Happy to have you! Don’t worry about keeping up with the club as you can always read at your own pace if the schedule isn’t working for you.
I’ll try and get a home thread up this week!
I Just saw that not every Kanji has furigana. If I still don’t understand Most of the vocabulary I will maybe use This book Just for learning Kanji-words.
Can someone recommend a good dictonary for the ipad where I can Draw Kanji?
I use Shirabe Jisho on iOS!
I will probably not participate. I have a new Job
and I don’t want the pressure from a bookclub during the first few months.
But I won’t stop studying Japanese. I will instead continue with Japanese from Zero 3-5, Genki 2 and Kanji.
Congratulations on the new job! Feel free to read the book at your own pace, or join us for the next book!
Thank you. I Hope the next book will be the one with the twins.
Just wondering if there’s a separate page for our first book yet & how many pages we’re going to be reading weekly? - sorry if this has already been answered elsewhere…,
I’ll make a home thread later today! Sorry, haven’t been able to get to it yet.
