Can't see the patterns

It’s pretty universal. English textbooks, Spanish textbooks, I even read a Tamil textbook. They all do the “this is a pen” thing. I don’t know why it’s always a pen.

I always type in Japanese, the sentences were just a example, my keyboard is not activated for Japanese.

I suppose it’s possible that the learner is using a fancy mechanical pencil that happens to look like a pen due to the eraser covering being less obvious? I dunno. I’d personally find it more useful and entertaining if it was something more ambiguous or something the younger/older generations actually might not be familiar with like an eraser that’s shaped like a cartoon character or a VCR (for the young) or web browser tabs (for the old).

I can’t see the patterns when I’m with you, but I love it.
