Can't continue studying

it will seem slow at the start. but as things progress it will rapidly begin to pile up. especially if you do your reviews/lessons all at once at similar times of day instead of spread out over time.

With respect, you’re on level 1. If you were to stick with WK, trust me, you will soon have more reviews than you can handle.

Bunpro.jp or jpdb.io or Kitsun.io are other SRS options with active community…

You may still stick around with WaniKani web app until Level 3, but without subscription, though. Currently it’s just not enough Kanji to level up, and also 1-day, 3-day SRS intervals, that are blocking you.

Also, many people are here in WaniKani Community without doing WaniKani at all. Don’t hesitate to join and discuss.

Read the following topic and it’ll show you how to get a widget with the hourly review schedule like mine below. Like others have said, you can go as fast as you want…BUT be careful of what you wish for since reviews can DEFINITELY pile up

Good luck to you!

I kind of felt the same way early on. I upped my daily lessons setting, I kept opening the app hoping it would let me do more lessons. I still started paying the monthly subscription after level 3. I was also using Bunpro and other apps to keep myself busy at that time.

Eventually though the reviews started to catch up to me and now the app keeps me pretty busy throughout the day. I stopped using Bunpro because it was too much. I’m only on level 9 too, so it starts to catch up to you quickly. Just my experience, if you decide to stick with it, it gets better. I turned back down the daily lesson settings, and sometimes I don’t even do all the lessons available for a day. I still use other apps and stuff to supplement other things though.

If you go to your account setting and set it to max new lessons and reviews per day, that would be enough reviews per day for most people by level 20+

Wanikani does start very slow and doesn’t get to a decent speed until over level 10
