Can I still review burned items after my subscription ends?

My subscription ends in 1 and a half month and I was wondering if I can review burned items when the subscription ends until I subscribe again, thanks

Only items from levels 1-3.

thanks! what about WaniKani statistics? Do they stay the same so I can make flash cards using it?

Wk Stats will still have all of the info it has now, but if you want to create flashcards of the mnemonics on WaniKani you can continue to use WK for it. All descriptions are freely available to see even if you don´t have an active subscripton.

No it will not! :eyes:

As soon as your subscription runs out, WK locks you back into the 1-3 “free” levels. WK stats gets its info from you API key, and that only gives info about levels 1-3. So any items you’ve burnt that are above lv 3, will not show anymore. Nor will WK stats accurately show your progress up to lv 14.

@Mjopa you will have to extract your current state. You can use the Item Inspector script for this to create Anki cards for example. I don’t know the specifics, just check out the Item Inspector thread for more info.

But, be prepared for only having a few burn reviews from lv 1-3 coming up on your review schedule on WK (unless you’ve burned all items on those levels, then you will have 0 upcoming reviews).

Everything else, lv 4+ will be put into forced vacation mode and so they will not progress further, as in the time-count for the SRS for those items only starts again once you re-start your subscription. So the actual time between review dates will get prolonged for the duration of you being unsubscribed.

You can also not use the Self-Study Quiz or any other scripts to access levels above the free levels 1-3. So, no self-studying for what you’ve learnt so far using scripts or the extra study.

BUT, you will still have access to all the info pages on WK, since those are all open information anyway. :eyes: You can continue studying that way. That wouldn’t be SRS, but it’s still studying using quirky mnemonics.

nope. just for lv 1-3. It’s all reliant on you API key as well. As all user-scripts are. it’s a prerequisite for them to allow add-ons like this, or I mean, it would just undermine the whole app.

So, like the Item Inspector also doesn’t work after unsubscribing. So you can’t really extract your cards after the sub runs out. ^^ Put that date on the calendar, @Mjopa! :+1:

I did montly and then yearly to lv 60, then unsubscribed. Then I returned and did yearly again and now forever, since I thought it a great idea to just redo the process. Look, I’m not a youngling like you all (?)! I can forget stuff and still be proud of getting to lv 60! :joy: I just felt like I enjoyed the process anyway, and so this app helps with that (and finally I can afford doing it again as well) ^^

It’s an add-on that let’s you list the items you’re studying on our dashboard. Like a table. And you can make specifications on what items to show. For example,

I’m sure @prouleau’s explanations are much better than mine. I’ll stick to some app-shots if you don’t mind. ^^

etc. just try it out. It’s pretty intuitive, just ignore features you’re not interested in right now. It works as great as the self-study quiz also being a very complex script!

Edit.

I forgot to say, like with the Self-Study Script it’s a hugely powerful study-tool on WK.

Thanks for the kind words.

The top post in the Item Inspector to post has a section dedicated to the study of burned items. You should refer to this.

I’ll try to take note, and do so, but can’t promise to remember however! XD But just posting this probably helps!

Ah, that’s sweet of you to make sure I got it right. I’d make the same mistake likely. XD (If I was you trying to say the same things)
