WK lists it as the other day, or a couple days ago and that’s fine by me; I was just wondering if you could also use it as yesterday. Thanks!

It’s an unspecified recent day, so it could be yesterday, but if you remember that something was indeed yesterday, or have no reason not to mention it, then just saying yesterday would probably be most common.
