Bravefoot’s Study Journal

But I could use that time to watch pigeons instead

could also finish learning the ~2000 japanese kanji too
but you know :person_shrugging:

it’s not like there aren’t ~8-10k needed for chinese

Shhhhhh, I’m not gonna think about that!

I’d pronounce it as ゲンザイジョウカ
Which is much easier to pronounce than that text with diacritics trunky_rolling

Number 8 should have been “And again!”

And number 9 should have been “Keep reading it aloud until the Sun goes no… I mean, until I tell you to stop!” cattongue

It means that Chinese and Japanese have a different idea on how to write and pronounce kanji trunky_rolling

Anyway, best of luck with your studies and other cativities! love2

not even horses?

or wolves

Can we have all three??

Good morning fellow sufferers!

It’s cold and I’m sopping wet and it’s pouring rain outside the bus. Autumn seems to finally be here :face_with_peeking_eye:

So I originally thought I could finally start on new lessons this week because I managed to lower my apprentice items to a ‘comfortable’ number. However, a big batch of older items came up for review some days ago, and the number of apprentice items shot up again as I barely remembered any of them. I guess I will need to postpone lessons again.

I think next week I will start lessons regardless, otherwise I’ll never be able to continue. I’ll just do a stupidly low number like 3-5 new items.

Yesterday’s lesson felt a lot better. I say ‘felt’ because nothing about the lesson being delivered changed, but I think I got over the initial shock and felt a lot more comfortable and receptive. I now know how to say, “My name is __”, “I am from __”, “His/her name is ____”, “Hello everyone”, “Goodbye”, and a bunch of other basic words and expressions.

Yesterday we focused on pinyin and pronunciation of syllable tones. Japanese is very easy in comparison. Don’t know how many here know of Chinese, but they have four tones which changes the meaning of a word/character depending on how you pronounce it. I am ok with the first, second and fourth tones, but the third is brutal! The teacher also realised we all struggled with it and she gave us some slack.

In other news, I already made my first mistake mixing up Chinese with Japanese for the same character:

Perhaps this will come in handy in the end as I’d need to focus a lot more on each character, who knows

これはぺんです!

This is outside the pub I’m in, made me think of you!

Is that white thing also a pigeon?

Cuties :pleading_face::heart::heart:

I think they are both doves but I know nothing about birds

I do believe doves are from the pigeon family though?

If by dove you mean it’s a white pigeon, then it’s a white pigeon (it should be, as they’re staying close to each other. Omg is it a couple?:pleading_face::pleading_face:)

But if by dove you mean something like a collared dove, turtle dove, or stock dove, then it would be one of those :eyes:

i don’t know, that’s a black and white dove to me, which i believe are part of the pigeon familam

Yes, pigeons and the different species of doves are all part of the columbidae family indeed!

They’re a black and a white pigeon. Cute couple, like Pokemon Black & White!

i think it was a bird not an insect

My misspellings are becoming worse by the day :sob::sob::sob:

Don’t judge too harshly, I just came back home from Hull Fair  My brain’s fried

it might help if you stop adding new languages to learn :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

:bird: :index_pointing_at_the_viewer:

I’m judging very harshly!!! so is this birb

*hides my Latin textbook*

No idea what you’re talking about!
