That means whatever time you have left on your (monthly) subscription gets refunded to you when you upgrade. For example, I had about 2/3 of my yearly subscription left when I upgraded to lifetime, so got about 2/3 of its value discounted from the already discounted price when I upgraded (2/3 \* 89 is a little less than 60, so I got about that much discounted when upgrading). ---
