I find that I am more likely to put in the effort to read novels when there’s a deadline involved, so by all means! No idea how often there are decent deals, but it’s not the end of the world for me to pay full price (I only read four actual novels a year anyway 
).

If @NicoleIsEnough doesn’t own it I don’t own it either, we sort of share a bookshelf, in a sense 
So I guess I’ll be waiting for a sale 
and read other books in the meantime. I realized I still haven’t started カフカ book 2, and I hope to finish it before the end of March before lending it to someone else…
I can also definitely understand the sentiment on holding off on all the new 2,000 yen books that booktubers have a tendency to review.

Hey, I didn’t want to pressure anyone into buying expensive books. I bought it on a sale myself, right after I finished おいしいごはん。 I’ll probably start reading it soon because I read the first paragraph yesterday and it pulled me in. But first some ユートロニカ.
I can make a thread for 水たまりで息をする to possibly record my thoughts, but with no one else reading concurrently (@phryne, you wouldn’t start immediately, I assume?), I’m not sure there’s much use for it right now. There definitely wouldn’t be a deadline anyway, but I could break down sections for future discussions. Or I can just read it and let you all know how I liked it, and leave it at that?
Then when you all have more time we can coordinate better about what to read together.

I think I might need to impose a no-buy on myself for a bit. I got 4 new books yesterday (well, used books but new to me!) and my bookshelf is overflowing 
This isn’t even taking into account the ebooks I have stockpiled.

I resisted the previous sale but this time I bought 水たまりで息をする and 蛇にピアス (another Akutagawa winner and apparently full of sex and gore ), and I already own 妊娠カレンダー so that could be another nomination for the compulsive readers!

I caved in (of course) and bought 家庭用安心坑夫 too after all, then also むらさきのスカートの女 with the spoils remaining coins. I also want to get a 三浦しをん book at some point (=now!) , as I’ve read 舟を編む in English and liked it, but I’m not sure where to start. 
I guess I could conceivably postpone it until the next sale…

I’ve started the final chapter of ユートロニカ, and I’m trying to pace 水たまりで息をする so that I don’t finish it before other people have barely started, but I can already see I’ll probably race through it. I’ve also started reading another book, パレード, so as not to read the other ones too quickly (I also have a lot of work to do, and that should definitely help reduce my reading time, but I’m doing my best to not let it interfere )
