Sorry to hear about the bent cover 
that’s the worst. Interestingly, my copies I bought from Kinokuniya don’t seem to have the QR code on the inside covers, but I did notice starting with volume 7 that the jacket sleeve tapers a bit - I wonder if something changed with the publishing? I pretty much always much up books trying to get the kinokuniya sticker off the back…
Thankfully they are hidden, but it’s still annoying. Several other books I bought include them as slips within the book that can just be removed like any other advertisement. And weirdly enough I don’t even know what they do. It says it’s an RFID code, but I don’t know what for.

That is shocking and very disappointing. I’m all for a series ending before it grows stale, but I’m caught up on the series and do not feel like it’s approaching a conclusion.
