Article: Pandemics in early-modern Japan

This term’s Cam Magazine contains an interesting article about a transcription project looking at books and ephemera such as 麻疹絵, はしかえ, Measles pictures and how AI was used to transcribe from kuzushiji and hentaigana.

It includes some new/interesting (to me) vocab such as:
麻疹 はしか measles
退治る たいじ to eliminate
