I’m just wondering if this word only applies as a musical term, or is traditional acceptable also?
Classical and traditional don’t mean exactly the same thing. Traditional is 伝統的.
This word isn’t exclusive to music or anything.
古典 is like “the classics”, as in a “classic” book. I can’t really translate the Japanese definition I checked very well, but it seems to me like “traditional” would not be appropriate here.
I’ve always considered 古典的/classical to be more like looking at a Greek sculpture or Shakespeare play. It’s old and important culturally, but it wouldn’t be 伝統的/traditional because it’s not a set of continued actions or customs repeated by a group of people.
