Is there any material out there that helped you understand rendaku and when to expect sounds to be changed in readings of words? Is there a set of general rules or is it just about remembering which words are rendaku’d or not?

I’ve also found that if you just listen to a lot of Japanese eventually you get a sense for where rendaku is appropriate.

never bothered to even try to find a rule for it. you get exposed to them so much during your studies, you’ll remember them anyway.
