Is anyone else annoyed at when a radical has a kanji, but the kanji’s meaning is different than the radical name? It just adds more to learn and its completely useless in my opinion.
For example, 母 means mother yet the radical is “drawer”, what is the point? To learn the wrong meaning of a Kanji character?
I understand making up memorics for radicals which do not have a kanji meaning, but the ones that do, what’s the point of adding a new meaning to the radical? Just use the kanji meaning and add a better memoric.
