I’m afraid there’s no way to keyword advanced search currently, but it’s something I could look to implement, though I can’t say off the top of my head how complex that might be.
One thing I will note though is that all the item cards give an indication of their SRS level, so I may also be able to make is so that there’s a setting of the sorting of items in the ‘Used in:’ section, so that you can view them by SRS level, wanikani level, etc.
Hi, sorry for a bit of a noob question but I just got the app yesterday. How do you undo?? I just can’t seem to see a button for it, or setting to enable it or anything! I’ll put a screenshot of an example of getting something wrong:
Settings > Enable Advanced Settings > Other Advanced Settings > choose one of the special button behavior options and you’ll be presented with choices for the behavior. Two of them are undo (undo and retry immediately, undo and move to later in queue)
When I do reviews on Wanikani on my PC and I type the onyomi instead of the kunyomi or vice versa, it tells me so I can change it. On Smouldeing Durtles it is a mistake - is there any way to change that so it’s like Wanikani…and I can make a correction…thanks very much…
I did look at the settings and couldn’t figure anything out there…sorry for the trouble…
The closest thing is the Advanced Settings > Other Advanced Settings > Soft-reject on single-kanji vocabulary, but it doesn’t seem like there is a general setting that covers everything currently.
First of all, thanks for taking on the app and updating it! It is v useful.
I’ve had a look around the settings (and ctrl+F this thread) for a notification setting to only be reminded once a day (or a different interval rather than when new reviews come up, or hourly). I would prefer that rather than whenever new reviews come up in the day so I can continue with it in my usual study routine but also so I don’t forget. Could this be a feature that could be included in the future?
Ooh, I see. I’m fairly sure that it does works everywhere you expect it to work because it’s a mistake I make very commonly and it would have been very frustrating for me if it didn’t!
Guys I hope I can ask you for some help (sorry if this is offtopic) – i’m trying to build the app with one small modification (which is to never show the wanikani mnemonics, only the user mnemonics, if they exist). I’m trying to build on Linux and the issue I’m getting is always the same both when I’m using Nix, or the android build docker.
Maybe someone can give me some pointers - I’ve never build an app before.
Oh yeah, also, I wasn’t sure about this line in the README:
Copy the file app/Identification.java.sample.txt to app/src/main/java/com.smouldering_durtles.wk
does that mean I need to mkdir that directory? Because that’s what I did. I assume that I can just edit Identification.java and strings.xml, I named my build insanikani lol.
Sorry for the delayed thanks! I noticed that it didn’t mark a recent mistake like I described wrong but it wiggled…lol
Now my new question for you all - can I put WK in vacation mode or remove it in SD or do I have to do that from the WK site. Thanks in advance!!
This would help my motivation since the main motivating factor for me is the movement of items from the leftmost columns, and currently the only perceptible moment when this happens is upon leveling up, but I feel like actually doing kanji lessons ought to be perceptible here🙃
Why do I have a different amount of lessons on Wanikani than in Smouldering Durtles?
I use 99% of the time the app, I’ve just leveled up to level 5, on Smouldering Durtles it shows I have 80 lessons to do, on Wanikani it shows 13.
Why and what is this big difference?
You can do as many lessons as you have unlocked on the website but “Today’s Lessons” only shows 3 × your batch size.[1] For the rest you need to click on “Advanced”.
I have a noob question. At 11pm, I have 16 items in blue. Does it mean if I get it right on reviews these will be added on my Apprentice count? Or does it mean 16 are already in Apprentice and going to Guru if I get them right?
