As the topic says, 侮る can be read as あなずる, and あなどる. Could you add a warning to the item, so the mistake doesn’t get made? It’s especially easy to make a mistake because the okurigana is the same for both. The difference is also just one kana too.

That reading of 侮る fell out of favor over 400 years ago. I don’t think it would be necessarily bad for them to add a shake, but in general I think all of the old forms of verbs (感ずる, 信ずる, 命ずる etc) won’t be found on Wanikani. I know that Jisho adds あなず.る as an additional “訓読み” for the kanji, but the official site for the kanken does not list it so it really does seem to be an edge case.

Well, I wish I knew that when I was looking it up on jisho lol. But, knowing that reading actually helps me because I’m looking to learn Classical Japanese in the (hopefully) nearish future. So, I need to remember that reading, just not for WK. Thanks for the insight!

That specific case is unique as far as I can see because many of the other old forms like that use 音読み so the changed kana is at least part of the okurigana. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that あなどる had like 5 other kanji also used to express it already. In any case, have fun with Classical Japanese!
