Why only have half the planets listed as vocab? Surely it’s all or none?
Here’s Uranus:
The vocab is merely as a way to understand how 星 is read in the case of planets. If you see the words for other planets, you might very easily be able to identify the reading correctly due to you already knowing the other planet readings. Not so much the meaning up to jupiter though…
I was so looking forward to the other planets as well… but they are not hard to study, so actually I understand why they are not in the vocabulary list. And by looking it up once, I memorised them immediately.
But the astro-freak deep inside me was still a bit disappointed, yes.
But, should Pluto be included?
Of course. Pluto has a heart too u know.
Pluto is the planet of our hearts.
We changed a bit how we take content suggestions / do error corrections, where we have the content team go through all of them between our work cycles. After our current cycle is done (end of this week), we’ll start to go through the list. I’ve gone ahead and added this suggestion to the list and the Content team will make a decision on it and either do it or not! I can’t wait to overhear the argument about Pluto.
Yes! Pluto forever!
Well, unless you plan on making the new requirement for a vocab be “has to be a planet” and reducing the vocab to 8, I don’t see a reason not to include other types of celestial objects.
But maybe 準惑星 could be added for good measure.
準惑星 Here we come
Edit: Omg, did you just edit your post to add 準惑星? Great minds think alike @Leebo …
Yeah, it was basically simultaneous, haha.
What about Captain Planet?
Do love some Captain Planet.
