Kyoko and Kenichi are all well and good, but what about Koichi and the rest of the gang? Random Tofugoe Mode!
Be careful what you wish forâŠ
Put my vote for random voice selection, too.
I would also like to have Kanji read.
I sent a long list a while back of suggestions. Do you still have it?
flashes back to the super loud Koichi reading of âwanikaniâ that was in level 50
It doesnât really make sense to have audio for kanji. Kanji donât have âcorrectâ pronunciations on their own (even for a single reading) since the pitch accent can change depending on the word itâs in.
You guys are the BEST!!!
Great update! Thanks for all the hard work!!
Record one item a day and release it secretly on the API
When you type in ăăă»ăâŠ
Omg, can we please get movie reference audio? So the audio for ăăă»ă would actually be Nic saying Iâm gonna steal The Declaration Of Indipendence
Would a script for this not be viable actually? Isnât it doable to source the sound byte from an external website and push away the audio from WK?
I suppose it cannot be done âoficiallyâ due to copyright issues.
Yes! Finally thereâll be a female reading for âć„œăâ!
I-I mean, very useful update, itâll definitely help my studies haha!
I donât see why it wouldnât work
Hmm, you think soundbytes would fall under copyright protection?
If WK would have used audio clip from the movie on the site, they definitely would have to pay license fees. After all, considering that WK is paid site, it would be considered commercial use, so no leeways such as âfair useâ there.
However, since weâre not profiting from it, and as long as koichi is not asking it from us personally, would that be fair use?
Well, I mean⊠I donât think WK could prevent anyone from doing something like that, they just wouldnât be able to make it part of the site officially.
Itâs so wonderful to see how you guys never let the platform stagnate and always find ways to improve it along with our experience. Thank you!
@viet, Iâve just updated Self-Study Quiz to support the audio info in APIv2.
While writing the interface, it occurred to me that if there is a likelihood of adding new voice actors, it would be helpful to have an API endpoint to list them, so scripts/apps can generate a drop-down box for a preferences dialog.
Ideally, people should practice with all speakers, but I can see where it would be useful to practice with one speaker, then another, etc.
Good point. Iâll run it by the team.
