Absolute Beginners Book Club // Now Reading: Kesaran Something and the Soup Shop // Reading Next: Yotsubato!

Well goddamn. I didn’t actually check to see or anything, just figured it was a full set. That will need fixing!

lol I found 15&16 at a used bookstore last year and bought them…i don’t even have 1 but I thought I’d eventually get around to reading them all lol

Ha! A bold statement. I like it.

Gave in and ordered Yotsuba&! vol 1! I still need to read 16 in English…

Oh, so do I. It came out back in January, and I never realised…

Looking forward to reading the next book. This will be my first time trying to read a full book, so I expect it to be challenging but rewarding!

Just got back from Kinokuniya, I ended up signing up for their membership because at this point…I am starting to read more and more manga.

Look at what the limited time card face is!! What were the odds!!

When should I create the home thread for Yotsuba? Is there a good template for this? If not, I’ll just copy the style of Kesaran’s home thread and make it work for Yotsuba. Through the next few weeks, I’ll collect different reading resources and guides to help people get started on Yotsuba.

Unlike the previous book clubs I’ve been in, it feels like Yotsuba might get an offshoot book club to finish the whole thing.

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised. It’s a pretty popular series for Japanese learning. I’ve been pretty busy for the last couple of weeks, and reading all that is a huge commitment, but I think I’d be up for it. I guess we’ll see about it when we get there!

Whenever you’re ready!

I would just copy…

Yeah, you got it :slightly_smiling_face:

Our book club host can run a poll at the end of the first volume to see if people are interested in an offshoot!

I’ve created a Home Thread for Yotsuba’s Book Club here: :four_leaf_clover:よつばと!・ Yotsuba&! (Absolute Beginners Book Club) // Home Thread - Japanese Language - WaniKani Community

yep, i’d totally be up for that since i bought (what I thought was) the whole series. turns out it’s missing the most recent. But still, 15 will keep me going for a while, book club or not.
