I just ordered both manga :see_no_evil:
I don’t like commitment so I’m not gonna say I’ll join in and/or stay… but more likely than not I will at least try ^^’

Also bought Ruri. Already wanted to take part in the last book club but missed it. Now I finally want to see what I really can read

Nice! Ordering them both is already a lot of commitment though

Welcome, then! Time to put all that learning to the test, eh?

Man, Ruri dragon is cheap. I had more points in my amazon account than what it costs, so I actually just got it for “free”. Gotta love point systems

Gotta love capitalism.

Only if you’re a sucker for the Sunk Cost Fallacy. :stuck_out_tongue:

I may have bought Ruri before the voting closed, because I was so hopeful. It just arrived, and I’m really excited for it!

Ookami-chan looks super cute, too. There were lots of good options this time around.

You gotta read your books or they get lonely, @Belthazar :crying_cat_face:

I did the same :joy:

What’s the expected start for Ruri and Ookami ?

About 2 weeks after the current one ends, so 18th of february maybe.

Ookami depends on how long Ruri will be

Here are some stats for Ruri to kind of figure on what its length might be:

  • Roughly 100 pages
  • Split across 3 chapters:
    • Chapter 1: 54 pages
    • Chapter 2: 25 pages
    • Chapter 3: 23 pages

I don’t know what the breakdown will be, but 15–20 pages per week is common for ABBC, depending on the density of dialogue per page. It’s also not uncommon for the first couple of weeks to be a slower pace to ease new readers into it.

Edit: Correction, I had bad numbers. Should be:

Ok so probably not until April. Leaves me enough time to bulk a few manga I want to own and avoid paying too much shipping fees !

Thank you

Ahhh! Good idea! I may just do the same!

Really wanted to use my kindle for this but I only have one device for reading and would lose my english book collection if I switch to my JP account… :disappointed_relieved: I really wish there was a work around here or that Amazon/Kindle would update to allow two different accounts to be linked to one device or link Amazon JP with other region accounts… :unamused:

So excited for these to start! Thanks to the future hosts and to @MrGeneric for organizing the polls!

Six chapters, no?

(Though I confess I’ve never looked at the print copy, so I don’t know if the first volume has all of the currently-released chapters or just half of them. I did see it in Kinokuniya on my last visit, though.)

Yeah, it’s actually 6 chapters, 185 pages like so:

  • Chapter 1: 54 pages,
  • Chapter 2: 25 pages
  • Chapter 3: 23 pages,
  • Chapter 4: 29 pages,
  • Chapter 5: 19 pages,
  • Chapter 6: 18 pages

I would assume the pace would be somewhere along the 12-15 page mark for the first 4 chapters and then entire chapters (because the last two are just short)
That would give a length of 12 weeks, though this ultimately is the decision of the organizer

How odd. Amazon’s listing gave a different total page count when I checked. Sorry for the misinformation!

Seems like a good pace. I wonder if I should buy me a physically copy for some notes to write down. Digitally seems like a easy choice to get but physically could be more helpful.
