Absolute Beginners Book Club // Currently reading When Will Ayumu Make His Move

The home thread for それでも歩は寄せてくる is up!

So, first things first! Is it July 10th suitable as a starting date for それでも歩は寄せてくる (you can find the home thread here)? It’s exactly one week after the end of Teasing Master Takagi-san, but we can also start one week later!

I’ll leave small poll here to gather opinions!

When would you like to start reading?

  • July 10th
  • July 17th

Are you sure? I don’t see it

Is there anywhere to get the physical book? It was sold out on CDJapan…

Which book are you asking about? Probably best asking within the thread for that book. You may find more info on buying the book in the opening post in that thread.

I’m going to make an order on Kinokuniya this weekend.

Current book: からかい上手の高木さん (1)
Next book: それでも歩は寄せてくる (1)
Next next book: 大海原と大海原 (1)

I’m in the USA; I don’t know if they ship to other countries. I’ve never bought anything from them before so I can’t really vouch for them. I figure I’ll give it a try and worse case I’ll get a digital copy at the last minute.

If it gives you any peace of mind, Kinokuniya is very reliable for ordering Japanese books. I actually have to pop into their store soon to pick up some stuff I ordered. :joy:

That’s good to know. I have high hopes because I really like the idea of a manga store with physical locations in my country. I just wish I lived anywhere near one of those locations .

Oh thanks! This worked for the US. I just finished Takagi-san and wanted to join the next club but for the life of me, couldn’t find a physical copy. Thanks so much!

I just order the physical copy from Amazon Japan, they had it in stocks.

The home thread for Wadanohara is up!

I will keep the poll open till 6PM GMT+2!

@bearytoast we’re gonna start それでも歩は寄せてくる on July 10th, if you want to update your thread and schedule!

Thanks for letting me know!!

The upcoming book starting in July, “When Will Ayumu Make His Move” (それでも歩は寄せてくる) is currently available for FREE on Bookwalker:

And usually if it’s free on Bookwalker, it’s free on Amazon too

Just noticed the people in the home thread already figured that out, hehe.

Oops! I am realizing belatedly that I should have dropped the notice about the Off-Shoot Takagi-san club in this thread as well, but for anyone who is interested, we are starting Volume 2 on July 24th!

Teasing Master Takagi-san :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: ・ Off-Shoot Book Club Home Thread • Starting Volume 2 July 24th! - Japanese Language / Reading - WaniKani Community

Could someone who is a regular update the thread title so it says we are currently reading Ayumu please?

It’s been changed

Makoto Okazaki is your run of the mill high-schooler, a perfect bullying target. One night, on his way to return a DVD to a friend, he notices a person on a nearby rooftop. The person lunges at him and bites his neck, drinking his blood. The attacker, a beautiful girl, then asks him: “Do you want to die or become like me?” He decides to live…

Personal Opinion

I think it is around if not easier than からかい上手の高木さん

Pros and Cons for the Book Club

It is a cool story. It has Vampires. No walls of text. Good art.

It only has 50 chapters (10 volumes).
It is not a fluffy story.
