A wild "Level 4" learner appeared

Happy to announce I’ve just reached Level 4.

Before March 12th, I tried memorizing Kanji the “old school” way, but it always felt impossible. I originally just wanted to learn 20–30 Kanji to boost my confidence, rather than dive into the deep end of the language.

Then on March 12th, I discovered WaniKani. Today marks my 29th streak day and my jump to Level 4. I won’t drag out a small achievement for too long, but I’m excited to keep growing with this beautiful community.

ありがとうございます、WaniKani!

Amazing enthusiasm  congrats and welcome!

thank you

i’m with you, good job! i also started like around march 2nd and now level 5

lets keep digging !!

Congrats! I’m curious about your goal for “20-30 kanji,” what is your motivation for learning Japanese? How are you hoping to use your learnings? I’d really recommend exploring the different communities in this forum to find people with similar interests. It’s a great way to stay motivated and supplement your learning.

thanks for your suggestion, though in comments it would be hard to explain why my goal was only 20-30 Kanji ,
one reason could be I mentally gave up on Kanji while learning Japanese, it used to look like all strange curvy characters or drawings to me which makes no sense at all.
so I was really hoping to get a starting point with minimal goal  .

My overall next goal is JLPT N5 + N4.

Hopefully learning the radicals system is helping you understand and not be so disoriented by kanji. There are also a lot of great dictionaries that let you look up kanji by radicals.

Hardly small!

29 days of solid commitment is a great effort

Now to make it 290!
