A timeline of WaniKani achievements

This is a timeline that shows significant kanji-related achievements with respect to WaniKani level.

The JLPT and Joyo data are the ‘noncumulative’ ones from wkstats.
I decided to use 95% and 98% since not knowing 1-in-20 or 1-in-50 kanji seem like good and simple benchmarks.

If there are any other objective milestones worth adding to the timeline (or typos), be sure to let me know!

Hopefully this will help you be more motivated, no matter what level you are at!

All the data is from wkstats.com/v2, but organized in chronological order.

EDIT:
----95% means it is the first level that has greater than or equal to 95% coverage but less than 98%
----98% means it is the first level that has greater than or equal to 98% coverage

Despite 100% being really misleading (because the last 2% often takes a disproportionately long time to get), I added in the 100% marks for the JLPT.

This is a great overview. 98% for Twitter and Online News each, huh, and even N2… Nice!
Thanks for posting

According to wkstats/v2:
5- 97.5% Joyo G1
16-100% N5
27-100% N4
51-100% N3/2
44- 95% G6 Joyo

I didn’t check everything but there appears to be some mismatches. I would assume V2 is the most up to date given V1 will expire soon.

Luckily, I was using v2, it seems I forgot to use the full link…
I clarified what I meant by 95% and 98% in the edit of the post, so it should make more sense now!
As for the 95% G5 Joyo, I took another look at the tables and it says level 35, not 44, so that one appears to be ok.

Yeah, that was G6. I’ll update my post.

:open_mouth:  :slightly_smiling_face:
Wow this is great! It seems I am almost 95% on top 500 kanji! This is new information for me as I do have @Kumirei 's SRS Distribution userscript installed so I am familiar with the other metrics you listed but this 500 is really neat. Thanks a lot for sharing @kanjimaster2000!
