A Dictionary of Japanese Grammar [aDoJG] 💮 Reading Club // Reading the Intermediate version

It’s week 21 & it’s new thread time:

Discuss entries for S here!

Week numbering seems to have got confused, by the way – it goes “21, 20, 21” (and then all the later weeks in the home thread top post are off by two as well).

Thank you for letting me know! I’ve adjusted this on the home thread as well as the most recent thread for S.

Are you still around @helloorange ?
I can probably help and take over the thread posting, if it helps

I am so sorry, I was out of commission the last several days due to health stuff. However, I’m now recovered, and will be continuing the club as usual. My apologies for the lapse!

If you’ve been following along with the schedule, last week (Jun 15) was the first week of our T entries. The thread can be found here: [aDoIJG] T 💮 A Dictionary of Intermidiate Japanese Grammar

Today continues the second week of T entries.

We’re getting close to the end now! Cheers to everyone who’s been a part of the journey thus far!

Thank you for all your effort! I’ve fallen a bit behind so I’m also pretty quiet here, but I’m slowly catching up and glad to be reading this with everyone!

Time. What is time? I forget.

Hello folks! Sincere apologies for the wonky scheduling. If you’re out there still, we’ve entered our last three weeks of dictionary entries(!) All that’s left afterwards is the appendices.

Join us over at the newest thread to discuss U-Z.

Hello!

This weekend we have officially entered our last entries, minus the appendix. I know it’s been tough to get through to the end, but thank you to everyone who’s participated in any capacity. I will probably personally be taking time throughout the year to come back to these threads, and I hope you will too. Don’t forget to follow along for any further discussion. I think these threads can be very helpful for folks down the road.

I haven’t been commenting so much but I have been keeping up with the reading – thank you for doing the organising of the discussion threads!

Yes many thanks @helloorange and of course @MissDagger still
Now, I see no one asking but I’m sure I’m not the only one thinking about it, are we going to read the 3 edition too??

  • I would be interested, let’s continue soon
  • I would be interested but could use a (long?) break
  • Nah

I’m definitely interested but with work commitments and being in too many clubs, I’m still quite behind. So I’d be keen for a long break to allow me to finish the current dictionary then have a gap.

I’m definitely interested!! Though October-November are traditionally super busy months for me, in addition to the various non-Japanese commitments I have now that are more important (and I’m still behind on the intermediate volume…), so I think my preference would be starting in January 2025 maybe? If that works for other folks? I think covering one volume a year is a pretty good pace!

I haven’t been too active in the threads, but I’d also be interested to continuing. I am a bit behind in the reading tho, and will also have a few busy months soon, so as fallynleaf suggested I’d be happy to start around January
