Hey guys, I uhh, broke my game, can anyone help? I was trying to type a message to someone and accidentally had the 9-Nine- window open. Somehow it shrunk my font size to terrible eye straining levels.
This part is a spoiler so I blurred it
I see nothing in settings that lets me change font size. I also see nothing in the listed shortcuts that would’ve done this. There is a font drop down option but that changes the font type but seemingly not size and was making little to no difference when I tried a few. I’m stuck unable to read now

It looks like two lines of dialogue loaded in at once and it is messing up the text box. These are probably obvious questions but was the text still messed up after advancing to the next line or loading an old save? I think you were on the steam version so you could try changing the language back and forth and see if that does anything?

Reading Azusa’s reply I was thinking, hey that second line actually looks a lot like Chinese 
. So I turned on Chinese subs and yeah, same screen. Just disabling the subs should fix it, or Shift+N shortcut.
Is the club that far that we’re attempting Chinese now? Next level, we got this.
I’d probably hide the blurred screenshot in a summary box though, Discourse’s blur is so weird with the hover stuff that it’s always easy to guess what’s trying to hide, especially with images… it’s so badly implemented IMO. 100% a personal thing though.

Oh my god, you’re right. I didn’t look closely enough cause I just went “ouch oww my eyeballs” and immediately spent all of my time looking through the settings. Damn it.

No worries, I’m glad it was a minor thing .
I just realised that the summary box was probably unnecessary since there’s no way someone can read the text even with hover so it was perfectly safe anyway, so forgive me for the random nitpicking before. I’ve seen sometimes that some images can be so heavily spoilery even with the hover and it feels so stupid to me, why would you want a hover function that would semi reveal what you’re trying to hide… you either show it or not, accidentally placing the pointer on top or trying to guess what it’s about often can lead to actual bad spoilers. It also lets you recognise some words occasionally when it’s text, though text is a lot safer.
Why can’t it be like Discord, you either click and reveal or you don’t 
.

9-nine- Episode 4, Week 7 thread:
We’re reaching the climax and it’s likely that next week will have an awkward and/or massive cliffhangery endpoint where we might want to keep reading. I’ve been thinking that if there ends up being no satisfying endpoint we could merge the last two weeks in one thread, and give two weeks to read it. We’re at 180k characters atm and JPDB marks 230k so I guess there’s 40k left at most. This is just in case I don’t find any proper endpoint but honestly, being not only the end of episode 4 but also of the VN, if we don’t count the new episode, I’m not too confident.
What do you think?

The new episode . Seems like a short chill epilogue though, but I’m not researching too much until I’m done with episode 4 .
For others not up to date maybe don’t click this link, I really don’t know what spoilers it might contain.

Speaking of which, maybe since that one seems pretty short (67k), that one can also go in just one thread, if others want to read it together. I would like to, personally. No need to divide weeks for that IMO though, as it’s much more laid back and to enjoy leisurely.

I’m fine with making next week the last week for ep 4. I don’t think it will go on too much longer, I think our versions had a lot of cut scenes since jdpb goes off of the 18+ version as far as I know. I’m guessing next week won’t be too longer than our normal weeks to finish off the VN

Yeah you’re probably right. I said 40k at most but it’s probably more like 30k if we take the other episodes into account which were 20k off hehe.

That sounds reasonable. Things are exhausting right now and I’m not sure if I’m going to fall behind this week or what, but with us nearing the end, split it however you think works out. I’m sure anything will be fine.

9-nine- Episode 4, Week 8 [END] thread:
I would say it’s over, but not yet! There’s the New Episode left hehe. I will say early though, congratulations on finishing the entirety of the base VN 
.
I’m not sure if people got the New Episode already from past sales when we were talking about the visual novel festival on Steam last month or previously, but if that’s the case then I’m thinking about putting up the thread next Friday. Otherwise I’m not sure if there will be any sales for it until Steam Autumn sales, which might make it a bit too long of a wait sadly (November). In any case as always I’m open to suggestions .
I will add, as it’s a single thread, there’s no pace nor deadline to follow, so everyone can read and/or post whenever.

I’m fine to start then. I’ve been playing on the deluxe edition that has all the games in one so I have it in there already. If people need some extra time I don’t mind waiting, although preferably we start earlier than November

Oh that’s handy, I didn’t know that one included it. If it weren’t for the very frequent sales I would’ve bought the deluxe edition tbh, it’s good to have everything in one, not just the new episode but like all the CGs and so on.
I’m curious, does the deluxe edition divide each episode as well, with their openings and endings?

Yeah, they’re all divided. When you first start the game only episode 1 is unlocked and as you finish each game the next one is unlocked. When you click on “new game” at the start screen you can choose which ep to play. Here’s a screenshot I read a little bit early this week since I was curious on how it finished so the extra ep is already there
The menu voices also change depending on which ep you’re currently reading like how it does in the base games.

Oh that’s actually nice! Starting each episode on Steam gets somewhat annoying but I guess since we played them naturally in order I didn’t mind and actually uninstalled them as I went, but if I wanted to go back to a specific point of a specific episode then… eh. I don’t see that happening though, I think I would just replay it at that point.
One thing that the Steam version did allow me to do though is test if I liked it in the first place (I remember being unsure of getting Episode 2 haha; now I’m glad I did). That and sales, the game with the new episode was 47 EUR total, otherwise it’s 68 EUR. It ended up being a fair discount, especially on Steam that you can definitely get a couple games with that money, so can’t complain about that. But out of the two versions I would probably prefer the deluxe out of convenience (and added dialogue).
