60 finally :)

Finally reached level 60!

It took me about 3 years and 9 months (I tested WK a few months before really starting, which is why level 1 is so long).

Many thanks to the team at WaniKani. !!!

At first I wanted to learn only to level 30 (or 90% of JLPT3), but then I kept going.

Now I feel that my level on Kanji is very high compared to my level of general Japanese comprehension. So I will try to find good reading material and maybe get conversation courses, but this seems to me to be a lot more efforts that just doing my WK reviews on the phone…

If I were to start again, I would try to combine WK with hand writing exercises. I would write by hand every characters in order to have a sense of the strokes. Also I think this would have helped remembering the characters more rapidly even if I had written each of them only a few times.

Cheers,

It makes a huge difference in distinguishing similar kanji, too, because it reinforces the visual breakdown of kanji into radicals.
