All good! Apologies if I’ve asked before, I vaguely think I might have now.
Im a Brit who’s been in Aus for 15 years now and I’ve lived regionally and driven around a lot so I get very excited finding Australians! I live in Alice Springs now so think I can now claim remote not just regional!

I’ve lived in the same regional area for over thirty years now. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows everyone - two degrees of separation rather than six! And if I travel anywhere now in Australia and say where I live, people will say “wow, I know someone there” and I’ll almost always either know that person or know of them

I’ve finished episode 13 and started 14. At this pace I’m still lagging about 20 episodes behind! I do have a bit of driving this week so I’ll try to utilise that time, though I suspect I’ll only get as far as episodes 15 or 16…
This probably seems a long time ago to everyone except @prath, but I agree her discussion about her work program was difficult. Took me several times to properly get what she was saying.

Btw, which episode was about the work program? I’m trying to recall what it was about, but I can only remember the Marta discussion (ep 18) since it was the last one I listened to. I’d been meaning to re-listen to the work one because I didn’t understand much the first time.

ep. 034 Summary

She heard from lots of Japanese people living in America and she enjoyed cheering each other on
There was o another point about her course being tough that I didn’t get

She’s done dance since she was a kid
So she got compliments
She thought of maybe training to be a teacher, then I missed something

As far as I can tell she’s saying she doesn’t like how the toilet walls and doors don’t go all the way down to the floor so it’s not as private.
She doesn’t like being able to see the feet of the person in the next stall or be able to talk between them
Then a lot I didn’t get
It sounds like in nice shops there are more modern private stalls but in her daily life she doesn’t like

This is my favourite section in the meantime. It’s interesting to see how some things tough for us in Japanese reflect in her learning English
She took a pronunciation class at her community college
She gave the example of how a can be pronounced very differently across words
She finds ipa pronunciation symbols and accent marks helpful
She recommends other Japanese to take such a class if they have the chance

Episode 015
All about learning English. How fun! And - Such an important episode! I knew from future episodes that she really enjoys ビール, but since I can’t drink it I couldn’t really connect with it. But this put it in a different light. Also, so many times when she corrected her own pronunciation of something, made me feel better about Japanese speaking being tough 
I take it 動画 means video as in YouTube video, is that what she’s saying so many times? And finally it was nice to hear いじょうでそ in the wild at the end. My Japanese teacher taught us that for when we’re talking about our weekend when we’re finished.

Yay! I’ve caught up \o/
I’m sometimes listening to it on my walk from work. I’m not very attentive and catch maybe about half of it, but some topics are 面白い, podbean is quite convenient, so why not, it’s still practice.
Also maybe I love hearing about other people’s struggles? 
I think she doesn’t like to cheer up while dancing (zumba 特有のテンションあげあげな雰囲気) - so it becomes looking like a party.

A bunch of my activities stopped in July/August so I’m still one episode behind I think and listening to episodes so slowly that I forget what they’ve been about
