study time: ~40 min. or so.
yesterday was a little rough; i won’t get into the details, but i kind of deal with some disability issues that make studying hard sometimes from foggy brain. still, i got wanikani done and did some listening practice.
it feels tempting to try to start #40h7d tomorrow … but should i? maybe i can lessen it a little. maybe 30h7d; my motivation is pretty high …

I wish I had the time to go all in with studying full time. I’ll follow you on your path, good luck! If I can give you one advice it is to not overdo wanikani (or srs) when you have a lot of time. Because there will be times when you fall behind a day or two, if you are going in a super fast pace the backlog will get huge, and you will have to deal with that on days when you may not be very motivated.
SRS/wanikani is amazing but it really shines when you do it in a healthy amount. Then again, we are all different and some can handle hours of reviews every day
For genki, if you are not doing the writing part or your hand hurts, this is a great resource Genki Exercises - 3rd Edition | Genki Study Resources

thank you sm for the genki resources and well wishes! my JP handwriting is pretty atrocious right now haha. i have a notebook just for practicing that.
and thank you for the advice too; i do have quite a bit of time i can dedicate to studying. the longer wk sessions don’t bug me very much if i do happen to fall behind a day or two. studying helps me feel like my brain isn’t atrophying if that makes sense.

had a bit of an off day due to a wrench in the delicate operation that is my sleep schedule. lesson with M was good! i want to work on vocabulary acquisition though. and i need to drill te-form in my head!! i feel embarrassed i can’t seem to get some verbs down, but M is nothing but patient and kind and doesn’t make me feel bad for being a space case.
i need to message and ask her about the one site she was using to teach me ながら; i liked how it presented the information. i’ll put it here and possibly use it for reading practice too in the future.
tomorrow i’m back on it in earnest; my spouse wants to check out an ep of our fave podcast together, so i’m taking it easy to do that. gn!

that resource linked above by cindergo was so nice to get into today. i did mostly reviews of the basics. looking to increase the study time tomorrow; i have a lesson again on wednesday so i also need to do homework.
i’m feeling like i might want to ask M for something specific to focus on too, but i’m unsure what. i think that’s it for today tho.

did okay work today. i feel like i should have put more energy into genki than anki, but that’s ok. lesson tomorrow morning … i’ll get up a bit earlier to get into jp mode before that happens. my lessons go better when i “warm up”.
i have to resist the urge to, like, stay up all night, though. anyway later. : )

lesson went well! today felt like more maintenance than anything else, though. review feels good anyway, but i can’t wait to get back into new territory and get better from there, but i need to strengthen my foundation first.
anyway the weather is getting pretty loud outside. better cut this short for now.

oops, fell asleep before i could post. more maintenance … but on the 6th i’m starting 30h7dlc, as mentioned above. 4.2 hrs / ~252 minutes or so a day for a week. i’m posting about it more in depth on my polyglot progress blog. i feel a bit shy to post the link … maybe when i actually start.
