Since I am in the EU, I had to pay a 20 euro tax handling fee from DHL though (and of course tax as well, was just hoping for the handling fee to be more like 5 or 10 euro instead of 20 
). But it still came out cheaper than cd-japan or verasia, so all in all it can still be worth it. There was only 1 book that looked like it’s not brand new, though. But they were all declared as used The only bummer is that they don’t have consistent stock, for example サバイバル・ゲーム! wasn’t in stock last time I ordered there.

ahh thank you! Rakuten doesn’t ship to my country - but Honto does! BUT!! apparently, they don’t accept any debit/credit cards from my country (not even international cards) so I need to have a card from some other country which…?? makes me mad lol
I’m trying to get a friend who’s in the Netherlands to get the book for me gah

If I can help in any way with shipping things your way you can send me a private message on learnnatively (because wanikani doesn’t have private messages), I can send from Austria and Serbia, but I am guessing both countries aren’t really near you either. ok wow so for 16 books, that’s amazing. Thanks for sharing that, I was actually just thinking of asking you! I had been wondering if the markup on Verasia was such that a bulk order straight from Japan would make sense (now that I’m reading enough to justify it…) … I’ll get just a bit further into my backlog to prove to myself I can do that

I ordered most of this series because it looks cool and it’ll be a bit more challenging than manga, but not as hard as a full novel I think. I couldn’t get the desert one since it was on back order. I’m excited to try reading a cya book in Japanese. I can read most of the sample pages that were posted, it just takes me a little while.

The books came today (Here’s where I’d put a picture if it wasn’t too large for uploading).When I order books and manga from Japan I feel bad opening them because anything physical is never going to be in that good bubble wrapped condition again. But they usually put so much effort into packaging and handling the goods that I almost feel guilty opening it.

I’ve got a work training and then driving home this weekend. So next week I’ll post the instructions and voting templates to the home post. And then I’ll put up the official start on Friday the 8th! Should I create a new thread or shall we just use this one?

One idea was to do the discussion for the first volume here and if there is enough interest for another volume that gets a new thread?
Or give it a new thread as there were some people who didn’t join the first book, but maybe they are watching this thread to join a future one? It might be less annoying for them and anyone else who finds this down the road. For us it probably doesn’t matter much.
