Ooh how fun!! I just made up the stage letters as a way to orient people for votes (each stage includes all numbered scenes from the book until the next decision point), I don’t think you really need stage letters, but go for it if it’s helpful.
I’d say use your first post, if you want, as a navigation reference, and put the scene numbers from the book that you followed and links to those posts. Then I could link your first post in the home thread as a second navigation post!
I’m definitely watching
scene 3
So fun reading your reactions!! That is a legit tactic, very helpful when walking in areas with snakes even outside the jungle!
nice solution! OMG reading with you is like getting extra features!! I’m totally going to follow along on your adventure with the book and I added links in the home post to the start of your and shuly’s adventure logs
I’m hyped to go on this new trail and then I’m not sure how to format it but I want to explore all the other options with some time travel jumbo once I’m finished the first go
Ok thank goodness it left. Hooray for closing your eyes and praying something you don’t like leaves.
As for the next decision, WHY WOULD I TRY TO CLIMB A TREE IN THE RAINFOREST THEY’RE HUGE. There is absolutely not a chance you’d be able to use them as a vantage point unless you weren’t smack bang in the middle of the dense jungle, plus do they even have branches that low? Plus plus I’m too heavy to be reaching the tiny branches at the top of the foliage leave that to the birds and monkeys.
Interesting I’ve gone back a few pages. I’d kind of like to make a decision tree diagram for this and see what it looks like.
Anyway the cute picture has what looks like blueberries but eating random plants when you have no idea what they are doesn’t seem like a good idea, especially in the jungle so I think a better bet would be setting a trap for an animal or hunting (I’m sure this child knows how to do that ).
Thank you soggyyyy
I hope I’m not spamming too much I’m trying to read a section a day
Weeb's Journey Part 5
Scene 27
This scene doesn’t have a decision I’m scared.
WATER WATER WATER WATER GO GO GO GO GO GO GO
Idk why I didn’t realise it was the Amazon river until it said it lmao. Anyway please don’t tell me I’m about to try cross it, I was just thinking about drinking
Scene 39
Oh it’s the plane damn. Now is it planes that have a black box signalling where they are in the event of a crash or am I thinking of ships. I feel like that’s not gonna crop up but that’s what I’m thinking.
Ummmm I know the survival tips back at the start said you want to stay clean but I don’t know if hopping into the Amazon river is a good idea there’s all sorts of stuff in there, I’d feel better going to a smaller stream or getting rained on.
I actually ordered this book.
But since I’m a cheapskate, I ordered it in Japan and had it delivered to my friend’s apartment in Japan… But I won’t get over to her house for a few weeks, so …
Ummm I feel like following the river is a good idea cause you probably have to reach something at some point, I’m not sure aimlessly wandering the jungle will do much at least with the river you have a point of reference. Though I know there’s a croc lurking but don’t walk right on the bank please
I thought crocodiles (and adjacent) were more of a sit and wait until the prey is right in front of their face to do something kind of predator but I guess little me was standing too close to the edge, I thought I’d just be walking relatively near the water not right upon it. Alas I should be more cautious in the future.
I have to say I did not know capybara were in the Amazon, I don’t know where I thought they lived but it wasn’t there. I suppose as deaths go at least this one was quick, getting poisoned, infected, or starving sounds torturous.
Scene 68
And now I get a nice little page about caimans! Very kind of you adventure book.
Once time has finished rewinding I shall change the future by choosing to head back into the jungle from scene 34
it’s not just cuz braincells frozen from being in the snowy mountains for an extended period…
this wasn’t the route the club took - which is honestly what makes this kind of interesting to follow… it’s like how many ways can you die in the amazon
I haven’t quite finished making my decision diagram yet but from the initial looks of it the club’s path is an entirely big separate branch from mine which is fun
Oh man the choices being to cross the river regardless don’t bode well for me.
The raft makes the most sense to me, if it fails I’ll be swimming regardless so might as well attempt the vaguely safer option. I wonder if the goal will be to row to the other side or just let the river carry me.
