Hello ! I’m new to this challenge (+ Wanikani community generally, despite being a lifetime user since 2019…)
This week :
- Bite Size Japanese Podcast - 20 min
- Oyasumi Japanese with Shun - 13 min
- Nihongo con teppei - 21 minutes
- Learn Japanese with Noriko - 20 minutes
- Japanese in-person class with Japanese professor : 2 hrs
In general, I try to listen to Japanese podcasts on my commute to work.
I started listening to Japanese with Shun about a year ago after identifying that listening was my weakest skill (I failed the JLPT N4 in 2022 by a few points, notably due to a dismal listening score). When I started listening to Japanese podcasts, I found Nihongo con Teppei too difficult. A year later I feel like Nihongo con Teppei is too easy, so I feel like I’ve made progress! I’m trying to progress into podcasts that are a bit more difficult (Bite Size Japanese, Koto no ha)…

thoughts/comments
Back to fubuki pov. She’s been playing on her own world off stream to farm some items and has clearly improved very quickly mechanically at the game. Some of the others are still struggling with movement, especially with maneuvering on grapples. After some accidental wall of flesh summons, they were gearing up and have basically put all their resources into her as a tank, which I think is probably the best call. Will see tomorrow how the real fight actually goes
Tried out some suiesei podcast at work today, and genuinely they talk about as fast in this as listening to the stream on 1.5x It is a lot of mental effort to keep up with this, since it’s more like a variety tv show style thing with a lot of comedy elements and a really wide range of topics. Sometimes I can follow super clearly, other times I’m basically completely lost, and depending on the day and how much energy I have that can be a real struggle.
Listened to a few more 4989 after I decided I wasn’t in the best spot for that today, went a lil better but still was really just not feeling podcasts much so swapped to music for the rest of my shift.
