Nihongo con Teppei, #1116, 17, 19, 12, 3
These videos have actually been helping me a lot! I’m able to tell where each word starts and ends, I’ve gotten a grasp on the super easy grammar she uses, and it just feels nice to actually understand something. I actually do recommend this for other noobs like me

As usual: one from Comprehensible Japanese intermediate, one from Nihongo-learning beginner, and one SDV let’s play.

Stayed up way too late last night, so today is a shorter one. Going to bed early like a responsible individual.

Listened to episodes 16 - 18 of Sakura and Suzuki plus half of a video from Daily Japanese by Naoko. Got tired in the middle, so I wanna listen to the last half tomorrow!
I’ve only gotten to watch until the first two things she likes. Definitely can relate to both but especially the 2nd one… I always felt comfortable eating alone in Japan and it was affordable too. Doesn’t feel the same in any other country I go to. It’s also nice to know she lived in Spain for a while which is the other foreign language I’m working on.
Today I watched:
About strawberry picking! I could mostly follow along without too much trouble, it was just at the staff section that I got lost a little.
Perhaps I could also tell that they were indeed strawberries being picked if my internet had decided to work properly and not run the vid at the lowest quality possible.

Episodes 19 - 21 of Sakura and Suzuki and the last half of the video Daily Japanese with Naoko. Definitely love the stationeries in Japan!! I could get stuck in one for hours if nobody stops me. And that last point… I am so spoiled by that in both Korea and Japan that I always end up doing that in restaurants or cafes outside of those two countries… Thankfully, someone’s always there to tell me I can’t do that cause it isn’t safe.

I watched a Let’s Play stream from a new v-tuber based on someone’s recommendation. He’s very charismatic but he speaks sooo quickly
It’ll take me a while to get used to his speaking speed. I also started a new listening comprehension video, so I’ll give it a few minutes per day until I finish all of the questions. I think after this video is finished I’ll switch to N2 choukai.

Lycoris Recoil ep 7 There’s a kabedon ![]()
omg, he’s hilarious! I really like the voice acting going on at 11:18 ![]()
Good thing there are subtitles in that let’s play, I get the impression he’s not mumbling too much (like Kanae), but that speed is no joke.

A bunch of very clear box checking just to keep the habit up listening to Shun while on my weekend trip, and then back into Japanese from Small Talk upon returning. Got another busy weekend coming up, so probably next weekend will look pretty similar.
Shun sounded a little… burnt out in these episodes? Maybe he had covid or something, or maybe I’m just getting surprised from going back to his pace. Anyway, after this weekend’s activity, I’m probably going to close the book on Shun’s podcast for my progress update, 131 episodes were enough and I’m onto more difficult material now. So I’ll probably mark it “done” after however much I listen to this weekend (if any, maybe I have more time and listen to some Japanese with Small Talk)

My teacher agreed for us to have a free talk session after the chapter we’re going through. She’ll give me a topic in order to let me look for vocabulary before our talk and be efficient on D-day. I’m very excited !

Halfway through the month already! If I had stuck with my original goal of finishing 60 hours this month, I’d be basically done with that goal already!
I’m glad I decided to up the ante a bit, even if I am having to sacrifice a lot of other stuff in order to fit this much time in. It’s only for a month, which lowers my burnout risk a lot. I’ll hold off on saying too much about if I think my skills have improved or not until the end (but spoiler, yeah, i can feel it lol)

Listened to another Daily Japanese with Naoko video about the weather. Thanks again for the recommendation @Zakarius ! I could follow easily because of her visual aids and clear explanation, but also took note of a few new vocabulary.
