We all voted now I think. We’re back.
Welcome to Stage J of
極寒の雪山 Escape

We back away slowly, watching the puma. Eventually, she relaxes and with a twitch of her ears, swiftly jumps off the boulder and runs away. Watching her disappear, you notice that the encounter made you sweat and now you’re feeling cold and tense. We decide to walk around, maybe that helps us warm up. But to no avail. Finally we stop and build a nice fire. However, no sooner do we relax and warm up do we feel the earth shudder. Small rocks roll down the hill. Uh oh, we better get moving and move to save ground where we’re out of the way of a potential avalanche! See you at

Not going to be the last to decide again!

I think we should look for a stream. If the chinchilla
is living here, shouldn’t there be water sources nearby? Also, I don’t want to go higher up to find snow to melt,
since we’re trying to escape the mountain, not climb it. If we find a stream we can follow it down to the base of the mountain maybe!
I don’t want to forget again either! Hmmm… I agree with @soggyboy.
decision
I would rather go further down the mountain (remember how we got altitude sickness a while ago?
Don’t want that again! So let’s find a stream to get water!
decision
I also agree that we should go down the mountain instead of climbing again, down is where civilization could be and water tends to flow downhill, so as long as we don’t trip and fall down is a better direction for us.
Also what a cute chinchilla! For once it’s a wild animal that won’t kill us on sight.
decision
I liked the chinchilla info page
I was actually thinking the opposite… I’m worried following the water might lead us to these hidden glacier rivers that run under the snow pack. So there’s a danger we break through where it’s thin and fall in!
Welcome to Stage K of
極寒の雪山 Escape

Eek, the earth trembled for a while and we narrowly missed getting hit by falling rocks. This is a dangerous place. We need a new plan and just as we’re thinking of going up or down the slope, out of the corner of your eye - チンチラだ! Well, if that little guy can survive here so can we. You pull out your flask to get a drink but it’s empty. Looks like we better look for a stream to get water. See you at

ahh I’m finally on time!

Why would we climb a snow-covered peak? I love me an adventure, but we don’t know the depth and the type of the snow, and if we just had a mini rock fall, we could have an avalanche at any time. I think it’s better to stay at the base (if we’re actually in the base right now lol).
Eek sorry I got lost out there I hope @soggyboy and @Otoko68 didn’t get too lost. (Sets off flare)
I really like when there are multiple scenes to travel through, this part was fun!
decision
Scene 51
This scene was harder for me, so I might have misunderstood something.
I read that part a couple times… I wonder if it was talking about the peak on the background. I understood we’re looking out at a plain and wondering why the snow was so thick there. So we see a wide thick flat / smooth area of snow. And our hero is thinking - did it snow a lot? Or did the snow settle evenly in the shadow of that peak (ie something makes snow slow down and collect). Maybe?
So I think the choice is to cross this flat snow or go somewhere else.
My survival instinct is wondering why it’s so smooth. It means no rocks, trees, plants… so maybe there is water underneath?
I’d go the other way too!
Egad! A flare in the distance! I will hurry over posthaste. (I’ll read the section tonight!!)
decision
Hmmm, yeah, I also assumed the peak was further away and we’d have to cross this snowy field to get wherever we’re heading. I was thinking that the snow could be hiding a crevasse or something unpredictable like that. Or it could be deeper than we think and we’d get wet + hypothermia.
Same!
Welcome to Stage L of
極寒の雪山 Escape

We follow the sounds of water and find a stream. Let’s not take any risks, better heat it up, plus we’re cold anyway and it’s nice to regroup over a nice hot cup of tea at the fire
But we can’t just sit around chatting, we’ve got to keep moving and get out of here. We see s large clearing. The snow is suspiciously smooth. And flat. Hmmm… we decide although it looks inviting, there could be hidden dangers. Let’s go this way

I’ve been out of town but I’m back now, should be able to read the section today or tomorrow!
Same here! I voted but I’ll post my thoughts when I get back to my book. Sorry!
There’ll be a shelter ready when everyone gets to the rendezvous point!
aww haha this is cute! joining you in just a day sowy
decision
Same, I’m like, why isn’t this choose your own adventure book challenging me, a grown adult, enough? It’s a good thing we didn’t go on that snowy slope though. I peeked at the other path just now and it was indeed a ゲームオーバー
Decision
Yeah… Hmm… Hard to choose between those two options
I have to admit that I have peeked at the other path a few times too.
