So “to open something up” is correct, but “to open up something” is wrong. Isn’t that a little silly?

you can add your own synonyms, but about the issue, I would assume they just didn’t think about this one. I suggest emailing them about it, as they just need a nudge to think about even more ways to phrase answers sometimes.

For some reason it’s quite sensitive but not at the same time. Can accept typos to a certain degree. And what the person above said, synonyms are your friend.

Just noticed it, but I’m gonna steal your fun trick to move the custom status! ^>^ I like it a lot! <3

Edit: if I can figure it out! XD

Edit 2: It appears to just be a Discourse bug, where the custom status is moved to the right side. :C Much disapoint!

Recently I typed in feedback box at bottom right (regarding 厚い), and the reply came back relatively promptly in the email. Then a little further chat via email.

Otherwise, tagging Mods in the forum might be another hope. Personally I prefer open letter, as well as I can’t be sure of everything I thought out. Sometimes it might be gray whether it is no good and better leave to user’s choice or not.

Thanks for bringing this up! As @ekg mentioned, we try to fit as many appropriate alternatives as we can when adding an item, but there will inevitably be ones that slip through the cracks.

Adding your own synonym is a great short term solution, but we always appreciate the nudge on these issues so we can help improve other’s experiences.

(Also, I should mention the Mods on the forums are the same folks who answer your chats and emails, so either method works for us  )

I’ll get “to open up something” addded as an alternative meaning for now!
