Cute chapter. It’s funny we had such a long story arc battling with Aura and co, and now we’ve had a long section of self contained chapters.
I like that both women seemed to be unnaturally asleep. Fern - it was a sign of trouble. She was ill with a cold (which needed drastic steps taking to remedy). Frieren - she was just sleeping. Because she’s over a thousand years old but still sleeps like a teenager…

This word caught my attention at the start of the chapter. Lovely word and great kanji combination - a flock of peaks.
I added this word to my Anki a few months ago and I feel like I’ve seen it a lot since. Harry Potter spends a lot of time doing this! I’m not sure I’ve seen it written with that kanji, only in kana.
The definition in my dictionary was subtly different:
to cry out in one’s sleep (e.g. from having a nightmare), to moan (in anguish) in one’s sleep

Now all-of-a-sudden, it looks like Hunter X Hunter…
I couldn’t find a Japanese equivalent for “cliff-hanger”, only 待ち遠しい (まちどおしい eagerly/long-awaited) or 念願 (ねんがん one’s heart desire, one’s dearest wish) Neither is actually appropriate here. A “cliff-hanger” is when a continuing story leaves off in the middle of life-or-death action, such as when the hero is hanging from a cliff by his fingertips, and the reader is impatient to find out how the hero will get out of this…

found this chapter a little annoying for very similar reasons…stuff I knew at one time and should know just evaporated 
4 vol down… only 8 or 9 left to go… 
a little bummed though cuz I know what’s coming and my fav stark won’t be seen much in the next arc… vol5 is gonna take a little more motivation to read w/o him

Thoughts on the end of volume 4:
A bit disappointed we are getting- what to me feels like- an uninspired academy/test arc. But at least a lot of interesting looking characters are being introduced at the same time, so it might be a bit of a change of pace from the chapters we’ve gotten used to up to this point. Cautiously excited for the next volume
